This month, the Independent Journalism Centre (IJC) continues its work with lots of enthusiasm and an extensive program of captivating events. We warmly invite you to participate in these events that we have prepared with care for journalists, educators, and all interested individuals. We are delighted to have you with us.<\/p>\r\n

Mediacritica<\/a> portal will bring more tips and useful materials related to accurate information during the electoral campaign and elections throughout this month.\u00a0 Additionally, we will challenge you to test your knowledge of discrimination through a quiz and will continue to explain concepts related to cybersecurity in the weekly section \u00a0#Pe\u00cen\u021beles<\/a> (In Plain Terms).\u00a0 At the end of the month, we will release a new edition of Podcast CuMINTE<\/a> (MINDful Podcast).<\/p>\r\n

Media Azi<\/a> Portal continues to track the most significant events related to the work of the press, and Tatiana E\u021bco will come with a commentary on the mental health of journalists in the context of World Mental Health Day on 10 October. In addition, we will publish two interviews: one with Jeanne Cavelier from Reporters Without Borders, and another discussion with Monica Vazquez from the United Nations Refugee Agency.<\/p>\r\n

On 26 October, we will launch the second edition of Moldova Media Literacy Forum 2023. During this event, IJC aims to bring together decision-makers, Media Education teachers, local and foreign experts in Chi\u0219in\u0103u to discuss the latest developments in the field, share the experiences of neighboring countries, and explore the prospects for media education in Moldova. The Forum will take place at \u201cClasa Viitorului\u201d, located on the premises of Ion Creang\u0103 State Pedagogical University. Furthermore, in October IJC and the Chi\u0219in\u0103u General Directorate for Education, Youth, and Sports will organize two more workshops involving decision-makers from educational institutions in Chi\u0219in\u0103u. The discussions will address topics such as communication during crisis or informational uncertainty.<\/p>\r\n

We will also launch video podcasts on \u201cHow to Improve Social Services?\u201d,\u00a0 addressing the quality and accessibility of social services, professional development of social assistance staff, cost-effectiveness of social services, and other related topics.\u00a0 The materials are intended for social workers and CSOs developing social services in various locations across the Republic of Moldova.<\/p>\r\n

In the second half of October, the first two monitoring reports for ten TV stations will be released, which will inform the audience about media behavior during the local electoral campaign of 5 November and access of electoral competitors to the media.<\/p>\r\n

During the Media Education Week this October, IJC will launch a media education contest for primary school students. Ten teams consisting of three students each will compete to test their knowledge in media education and promote media culture in their schools. The competition will take place in person on 2 November, in Chi\u0219in\u0103u.<\/p>\r\n

IJC will continue to monitor closely the legislative developments in the area of media and will provide free legal consultations to journalists and media outlets.\u00a0 It will also maintain the \u201cMedia Lawyer” section on www.cji.md<\/a> portal, where one can find answers to legal questions from journalists.<\/p>\r\n
