Non-governmental media organizations are deeply concerned about the act of vandalism at the premises of the \u201cTeleradio-Moldova\u201d (TRM) Public Company and demand investigating the case urgently and efficiently, as well as preventing subversive activities against the public TV service provider.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

In the night between September\u00a027\u00a0and\u00a028, the TRM premises were\u00a0vandalized<\/a>\u00a0by several individuals. On the previous day, the Police detained two persons for vandalizing the premises of the Government and those of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection; they declared they were part of a group of 20\u00a0young people who had been recruited to vandalize the buildings of the institutions and the public authorities of the Republic Moldova for destabilization.<\/p>\r\n

The signatory organizations vehemently condemn any actions which cause threats or risks to the audiovisual media service public provider\u2019s activity and emphasize the inadmissibility of tolerating such violations.<\/p>\r\n

We hereby address the legal authorities of the Republic of Moldova, demanding, by virtue of their legal powers, to investigate the actions committed immediately and efficiently in order to bring the perpetrators to justice.<\/p>\r\n

We would like to remind you that, according to the amendments<\/a> adopted in June\u00a02022, the Parliament included<\/a>\u00a0the TRM in the list of public institutions which benefit from the state guard services. In this context, we would like to emphasize the need to improve the TRM\u2019s security capacities as it is an institution of strategic importance, and its premises are an element of the state\u2019s crucial infrastructure. We hereby request taking improved steps to ensure safety, integrity, and functionality of the TRM Public Company.<\/p>\r\n
