In spite of the fact that the main narratives remain the same, the accents change and depend on the political agenda and current events.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>On the 83<\/strong><strong>public Facebook pages and groups monitored by us, it is observed that most of the narratives come from the opposition parties and leaders, and are published directly on their official pages or promoted via their affiliated media outlets.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Attacks against the PAS and the governance in general intensified; in terms of frequency, they are followed by disinformation concerning the persecuted opposition and an alleged election fraud.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>To obtain greater virality and to increase the impact, such techniques as appealing to fear, victimization, demonization of political opponents, generalization, presenting speculations as facts, manipulative historical analogies, and conspiracy theories are frequently used.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>On the pages of the monitored media outlets, we also observed permanent use of a single source of information, the lack of fact-checking, opinions mixed with factual information, and an obvious biased approach of the editorial boards; these elements amplify the manipulative nature of the content.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<table width=\"0\">\r\n<tbody>\r\n<tr>\r\n<td width=\"602\">\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>WHAT WE MONITORED<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We analyzed the content published on <strong>83<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>public Facebook pages<\/strong> belonging to several parties and party leaders, media outlets and influencers, and thematic public groups with the audience ranging from 1000\u00a0to over 88000\u00a0members.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The most popular <strong>public pages<\/strong> are Renato Usatii (over 337000\u00a0followers), Point.md (218000\u00a0followers), Igor Dodon (192000\u00a0followers), \u0422\u0438\u043f\u0438\u0447\u043d\u0430\u044f \u041c\u043e\u043b\u0434\u043e\u0432\u0430 (Typical Moldova) (188000\u00a0followers), TV6 (172000\u00a0followers), Unimedia (135000\u00a0followers), Morari.live (130000\u00a0followers), and Primul in Moldova (118000\u00a0followers).<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The most popular <strong>public groups<\/strong> are <em>Moldova, treze\u015fte-te!<\/em> (Moldova, Wake up!) (circa 89800 members), <em>\u0421\u0432\u0435\u0436\u0438\u0435 \u043d\u043e\u0432\u043e\u0441\u0442\u0438 \u0438\u0437 \u0420\u0435\u0441\u043f\u0443\u0431\u043b\u0438\u043a\u0438 \u041c\u043e\u043b\u0434\u043e\u0432\u0430 \/ Stiri din Republica Moldova<\/em> (News from the Republic of Moldova) (88500\u00a0members), <em>ADOPT\u0102 UN VOT!<\/em> (Use Your Vote!) (circa 80000\u00a0members), and <em>\u0218tiri din Moldova (News from Moldova) <\/em>(37000\u00a0members).<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Over <strong>1050<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>posts<\/strong> with harmful content with over 356000\u00a0views were identified and analyzed.<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<\/table>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Let us analyze the most prominent narratives found in the content published by the monitored pages and groups.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\r\n \t<li><strong>The PAS governance = captured state, degradation of key sectors, and making enemies<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the monitored Facebook pages and groups, the Action and Solidarity Party and President Maia Sandu were the targets of a number of disinformation narratives, in spite of their initial topic range. Both the PAS and the head of the state are frequently presented as the main persons blamed for some alleged generalized degradation of the country (which is similar to the tendencies we observed during the<a href=\"https:\/\/mediacritica.md\/naratiunile-de-dezinformare-pe-facebook-in-context-preelectoral-dictatura-frauda-razboi-si-alte-teme-recurente\/\"> previous monitoring<\/a>), they are accused of \u201ccapturing\u201d the Republic of Moldova, destroying such strategic sectors as agriculture and education, and making up some foreign threats in order to cover up their own failures.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The messages about the <strong>collapse of agriculture<\/strong> are one of the recurring topics. For instance, the page of <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/tv6live\/videos\/725003013741850\/\">TV6<\/a><\/u>, a channel with a suspended license, reports in a news item re-published from Canal\u00a05, another previously closed TV\u00a0channel, that \u201cfarmers are going bankrupt with the authorities\u2019 silent consent\u201d while covering a topic about another district which requested introducing a state of emergency in the sphere of agriculture. This same source<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/tv6live\/videos\/1924905634971502\/\"> published<\/a> a message from a farmer, according to whom, those who work in this sphere were left without any assistance, while Minister Catlabuga \u201cwearing a yellow vest distributes some leaflets and says what will be done in the next four years.\u201d \u201cFarmers from Causeni and Stefan Voda feel desperate; some of them already are about to go bankrupt. The authorities promised to provide some assistance, but, due to their incompetence, even free diesel from Romania did not reach its recipients on time. For this reason, hundreds of farms are encumbered with debts,\u201d he says. Another <u>report<\/u> also taken from Canal\u00a05 is accompanied by the following text, \u201cAgriculture is in a profound crisis while the minister prefers to be involved in the elections.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-51358 size-full lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"https:\/\/cji.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/FB-Colaj-1.1-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"900\" data-sizes=\"auto\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/cji.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/FB-Colaj-1.1-2.png 1600w, https:\/\/cji.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/FB-Colaj-1.1-2-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/cji.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/FB-Colaj-1.1-2-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/cji.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/FB-Colaj-1.1-2-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/cji.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/FB-Colaj-1.1-2-1536x864.png 1536w, https:\/\/cji.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/FB-Colaj-1.1-2-380x214.png 380w, https:\/\/cji.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/FB-Colaj-1.1-2-20x11.png 20w, https:\/\/cji.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/FB-Colaj-1.1-2-190x107.png 190w, https:\/\/cji.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/FB-Colaj-1.1-2-760x428.png 760w, https:\/\/cji.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/FB-Colaj-1.1-2-1140x641.png 1140w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" \/>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As to the <strong>sphere of education<\/strong>, the idea that the PAS keeps destroying the system intentionally is being promoted. <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/inimamoldovei.md\/videos\/3059271720938228\/\">Partidul Inima Moldovei<\/a><\/u> (The Heart of Moldova Party) published a statement by Lilia Cazac, the political entity\u2019s leader from Dubasari, from the protest against closing five gymnasiums in the Cahul District. She affirms that \u201cthe PAS governance finds excuses, claiming that \u2018there is no money left for schools.\u2019 The yellow ones, by means of their \u2018optimization,\u2019 steal children\u2019s future.\u201d In another <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/inimamoldovei.md\/videos\/2896444497225665\/\">post<\/a><\/u>, the education reform offered by the PAS is presented as \u201cintentional destruction of the country. The PAS criminals are closing five schools in the Cahul District in a single go! The yellow authorities deprive children of their right to education!\u201d Ion Ceban, the leader of the National Alternative Movement Party, also writes on<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Ion.Ceban.public\/videos\/786610670363187\/\"> his page<\/a> that \u201cthe level of education during the PAS governance has abruptly decreased.\u201d In the group titled <em><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/moldovalibera\/permalink\/24146895961617482\/\">\u041c\u043e\u043b\u0434\u043e\u0432\u0430 \u0434\u043e\u043b\u0436\u043d\u0430 \u0431\u044b\u0442\u044c \u0441\u0432\u043e\u0431\u043e\u0434\u043d\u043e\u0439!<\/a><\/u> <\/em>(Moldova Should Be Free!), the following message was published, \u201cDan Perciun, the Minister of Education and Research, fails to cope with his duties. Under his leadership, the Moldovan education system keeps facing multiple issues.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another disinformation tendency identified by us is <strong>discrediting the PAS candidates<\/strong>. The <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/moldovakalendar\/posts\/pfbid0pQXoNhE49zyPCwx4Fdyzu8QBRWVKWKx27gdH6mf4ahQkF8JsmB3DFbwqnMRnmAbnl\">\u041c\u043e\u043b\u0434\u0430\u0432\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0439 \u041a\u0430\u043b\u0435\u043d\u0434\u0430\u0440\u044c<\/a><\/u> (Moldovan Calendar) page published Vlad Filat\u2019s statement about the candidate Constantin Cheianu, whom he describes as \u201ca clown, a charlatan, and a dandelion trying to do some work.\u201d In the group titled <em><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/441788529600873\/permalink\/2220254315087610\/\">\u041f\u0440\u0438\u0434\u043d\u0435\u0441\u0442\u0440\u043e\u0432\u044c\u0435-\u043d\u0430\u0448 \u043e\u0431\u0449\u0438\u0439 \u0434\u043e\u043c<\/a><\/u><\/em>, (Transnistria is Our Common Home), one of the users writes that \u201cthe country will be headed by people whose only working experience is playing the ball. It\u2019s a farce. In the midst of poverty, war, and collapse, appointing an athlete for a state position is a slap in the face of those who still believe in changes.\u201d \u201cDo they want to stay in the Parliament and to decide the fate of retired people, ordinary citizens, and the entire country??? No experience. No shame. No conscience. A sauna instead of contests. Whores instead of diplomas. Alcohol instead of morality. This is the way the PAS promotes their own members among the leadership teams of the key government authorities.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another related narrative is that the governance keeps making up enemies in order to cover up their own internal issues; it is based on the conclusions drawn during the Supreme Security Council meeting and the speech by the head of the state regarding the basic methods of foreign interference in the electoral processes in the Republic of Moldova. The <em><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/1599133697033735\/permalink\/4158964921050587\/\">\u0421\u0432\u0435\u0436\u0438\u0435 \u043d\u043e\u0432\u043e\u0441\u0442\u0438 \u0438\u0437 \u0420\u0435\u0441\u043f\u0443\u0431\u043b\u0438\u043a\u0438 \u041c\u043e\u043b\u0434\u043e\u0432\u0430 \/ Stiri din Republica Moldova<\/a><\/u> <\/em>(News from the Republic of Moldova) group shared a post from <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/people\/%D0%9C%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%B4%D0%B0%D0%B2%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%B9-%D1%81%D0%B2%D1%8F%D0%B7%D0%BD%D0%BE%D0%B9\/61577231590515\/?__cft__%5B0%5D=AZUlavmLloYE4l6s43TF7hT2TYVRxsdeGMkXN_t8-TiSTPGaNLU5L8A_bXIaFCzcV0_oIJ-vPmWi_IZHBm3S_mMNQmfH_O9lFdu-nLDtgOrucBhuTt7IeIY9z-jZ2aYVqveaHYRRqFjSGwo-rwwnvd360Ps-Lj1bQIaHNPuPLqcUfyo592yF157yK6-RSzrNHmzxGIXZYZa2CtCe-vX5vabMSFEDTGjU75_svd-gMnCb5A&amp;__tn__=-UC%2CP-y-R\">\u041c\u043e\u043b\u0434\u0430\u0432\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0439 \u0441\u0432\u044f\u0437\u043d\u043e\u0439<\/a><\/u> (Moldovan Messenger) ridiculing Maia Sandu\u2019s announcement regarding Russia\u2019s interference with the elections: \u201cAgain, Maia Sandu has seen the \u2018hand of the Kremlin\u2019 \u2013 this time, it seems to be in every protest, in every Telegram channel and, probably, even in her own shadow.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cNew \u2018campfire stories\u2019 by Maia Sandu have appeared on the eve of the parliamentary elections\u201d and \u201cthe fear campaign\u201d are the phrases from the headlines on <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/tv6live\/videos\/3154905534686652\/\">TV6<\/a><\/u><em>.<\/em> \u201cEvery time, before the elections, Maia Sandu and her team find another \u2018enemy\u2019 to threaten the country. Nowadays, it\u2019s \u2018Russian interference,\u2019 tomorrow, it will be \u2018paid protesters,\u2019 and so on, and so forth. It has already become a classic strategy of the PAS: to cause fear, to stir emotions, and to disguise the governance\u2019s failures by means of \u2018foreign threats,\u2019\u201d a message published by the <em><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/RENASTERE\/permalink\/30722342574047469\/\">\u041c\u041e\u041b\u0414\u041e\u0412\u0410<\/a><\/u> <\/em>(Moldova) group says. Election fraud with the assistance of the diaspora<\/strong>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The topic concerning the number of polling stations to be opened abroad in the context of the parliamentary elections publicly discussed in the second half of July was used as an opportunity to resume the narratives about the election fraud within the diaspora. For instance, <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100063542242518&amp;sk=reels_tab&amp;__cft__%5B0%5D=AZUksTR8QKiM2i0gl-tykf2nT9aV9zmBEkIAG7E65_Zw4P_s7LKyARDslCNiuAEJyXuTQkwJLc-1SPbmn3dzXr3Ihz7k0Oe2xVFQwULa01cSuibtptfJmYNaUMDNMPUt2Xxg-0xLMbR1XOH7d5Idsp82T2CHZPqWgaPs-7MXdd2WbQ&amp;__tn__=-%5DF\">TV6<\/a><\/u> quotes an attorney named Igor Hlopetchi interviewed by Canal\u00a05 who claims that \u201cthe PAS will try to fraud the parliamentary elections by means of the diaspora!\u201d The <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/morari.live\/videos\/1070964628509145\/\">Morari.live<\/a><\/u> page published an interview with political scientist Serghei Banar who believes that, \u201con the election day, citizens will only be offered an illusion of the elections,\u201d and the <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/749131472111406\/?hoisted_section_header_type=recently_seen&amp;multi_permalinks=2587682161589652&amp;__cft__%5B0%5D=AZXZGmLhUiX4LQkY4alN8t1vVD52cRzBbmbWq6kX_VXHeeUa9upOdfYj_yvzKh7EDdph62IGHQz8urg73VHqT1g6hMKjimQTwlnbReOQ9gpnMpZagO2nsIu7WIrzXUyqWK5sSwEr-JfxT8J2rdTvI2OzmM4X0Ly8y6ujJWWYUMgt54PlhVN4fEjbzj87yuss49WaTzTAZXxtjeYfJZGbqKTcPXt_D1sWJ8HtmdTTdyA1cnQNNs4C08GpME3GFP0uLoYPOWjq1OHDSGL86ed3rZGe&amp;__tn__=-UC%2CP-R\">Moldova 1359<\/a><\/u> page shares an interview with deputy Radu Marian who explains why judges deserve salaries equal to millions. \u201cThey will accept falsified election results,\u201d the author of the post concludes without providing any arguments. In a similar manner, the <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/moldovakalendar\/posts\/pfbid02qq68xLWWB6USeH2cwTrJNxqkKDHnGW7ebpaq18EDdonZdvaP14NoTFNibXS3UdFvl\">\u041c\u043e\u043b\u0434\u0430\u0432\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0439 \u041a\u0430\u043b\u0435\u043d\u0434\u0430\u0440\u044c<\/a><\/u> (Moldovan Calendar) page quotes journalist Dmitri Chubashenco who affirms that \u201cthe PAS will do everything possible to gain an absolute majority in the next parliament. And if they fail to do so, they\u2019ll simply annul the election results.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During this period of time, the narrative regarding the election fraud was fueled by the discrepancy in the number of polling stations to be opened in the EU countries and in the Russian Federation. More exactly, out of the 294\u00a0polling stations the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) suggested to open abroad, only two are located in the Russian Federation, in Moscow, while Italy will have the largest number of them\u00a0(73). A foreign army means a foreign war: the PAS is taking Moldova to the frontline.\u201d The message is based on negative associations and de-legitimization of the authorities by means of lies and manipulation, amplifying public anxiety and distrust in the state authorities.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The post reposted by <em><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/moldovamaremd\/permalink\/1432857841196968\/\">\u0417\u0435\u043c\u043b\u044f \u041c\u043e\u043b\u0434\u0430\u0432\u0441\u043a\u0430\u044f!<\/a><\/u><\/em> (Moldovan Land!) abounds in manipulative historical associations, it also contains an appeal to fear, combinations of comparisons with the occupation in\u00a01941, insinuations regarding the loss of sovereignty, and emotional pictures of victims \u2013 all of these are meant to present military cooperation with NATO as an existential threat to the Republic of Moldova: \u201cGerman army boots are in Moldova. It has happened once again. Minister of Defense Anatol Usatii officially confirms: the Bundeswehr Army will soon appear in the Moldovan territory. The Germans are again in our lands. 1941\u00a0is back again, but this time, it happens according to the scenario of a \u2018peaceful partnership\u2019 with NATO. But it all has the same essence. If you\u2019re Eurosceptic, if you criticize the regime, or your opinion simply differs from that of Maia Sandu, you\u2019re called a hybrid, a criminal, a foreign agent, an enemy, or a threat to society. Such an approach is unimaginable in a state that calls itself democratic. The authorities\u2019 paranoia has reached a clinical stage.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The trial involving Evghenia Gutul, the head of Gagauzia, was also used as a pretext to victimize the pro-Russian opposition and to diminish or to ignore the accusations brought against her. Some Facebook users interpreted this ban as evidence confirming that the current governance, in complicity with its foreign partners and the international organizations, restricts freedom of expression, marginalizes conservative voices, and promotes the policies which contradict traditional values and national interests of the Republic of Moldova.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event was used as a focal point for several recurrent disinformation topics concerning censorship, loss of sovereignty, and threatened cultural identity. The tone of the posts is predominantly emotional, appealing to such feelings as fear, indignation, and solidarity against a \u201ccommon enemy\u201d (i.e. the current governance and its foreign partners).<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The most widespread narratives which emerged during this period of time refer to limited access and \u201ccensorship,\u201d participation restrictions were interpreted as evidence of a lack of transparency and political control, and the PAS governance was presented as equal to the \u201cfear of dissent\u201d and deliberate intention to exclude any critical voices.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While covering the fact that Brian Brown, an American conservative activist, was banned from entering the country, Primul in Moldova promotes the <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PrimulMoldova\/videos\/1435686311016493\/\">following idea:<\/a><\/u> \u201cat least one of the 345\u00a0million American citizens learned from his own experience that Moldova is actually a bastion of dictatorship.\u201d <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/balti24md.2?__cft__%5B0%5D=AZW4JsmsWLskBBGnGUXWiq0A4nSwuDtHLkhPBGRjJSN5e2IDSQNsggaXbmKKCkBNNrUfhX-OLq0DUtTZdbXYZ9VqmkE2dj_qmdhUzkHYZIKPsxrmJ679Eks1sblpcQXk9JQYv5i-U6aK3YTMu6G8uxRN1zs8JQEy3Z2U8YjIzQ6515QlmCORkxuidcZhTxWZuMyRKnjIS9VsHl2_0-Pga049pJKdMYGEeCeuiFvCkgyqXY0dCEFs2hew7f_AvspK22hrC6inhANIPyylt9a7vqRU&amp;__tn__=-UC%2CP-y-R\">\u0411\u0435\u043b\u044c\u0446\u044b 24<\/a><\/u> quote Victoria Furtuna who criticizes the authorities and accuses them of censorship: \u201cIt\u2019s a dictatorship disguised as democracy! People were not allowed to visit the country just because they share conservative views, faith, and family values.\u201d On <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/tv6live\/videos\/24273948358891770\/\">TV6<\/a><\/u>, Vasile Costiuc, President of the Democra\u021bia Acas\u0103 (Democracy at Home) Party, claims that this \u201cabuse committed by the PAS, Maia Sandu, and Prime Minister Recean\u201d is based on fear: \u201cThe answer is obvious \u2013 fear is the reason. The authorities are afraid of losing the elections and prevent the foreign guests from visiting Chisinau, so that they do not talk about democracy, the European path, or about the abuse committed by the authorities themselves: closing TV\u00a0channels, censoring the Internet, criminal cases, and eliminating their opponents from taking part in the elections.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The other related disinformation concerned alleged foreign control over Moldova, European integration as an illusion, and the EU as a threat to national identity. TV6, one of the monitored sources, published numerous posts containing such narratives. In a <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/reel\/1728551817766425\">video<\/a><\/u> reposted from Canal\u00a05, Alexei Lungu, the leader of the Sansa (Chance) Party, is quoted: he claims that \u201cthe EU is the main stakeholder who interferes in the policy of the Republic of Moldova.\u201d In <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/reel\/544582098648481\">another video<\/a><\/u>, political scientist Alexander Korinenko mentions that \u201cthe EU\u2019s actions in Moldova are just business.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">TV6 also published the message by Sergiu Ungureanu, an economic expert, who, in his speech for Canal\u00a05 in the context of the MEGA\u00a0conference, criticizes the officials in Brussels and says that the European leaders are trying to impose their rules on the other countries, without taking their opinions into account, and \u201cthe idea of \u2018Making Europe Great Again\u2019 demonstrates that more and more people are dissatisfied with the way the European Union functions nowadays. Ex-Prime Minister Vlad Filat quoted by <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/telegraphmd\/posts\/pfbid0WuKFhAVKiE2d2q3bxEx3gF7MAxJLA7LWYQTQucgW5MqG7HGhneg2Bfh28C692Kp4l\">Telegraph Moldova<\/a><\/u> believes that \u201cthe EU risks becoming a soft dictatorship. The Republic of Moldova is on the verge of an abyss.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the same manipulative context, Shalva Papuashvili, President of the Georgian Parliament, was<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/tv6live\/videos\/1468594860809362\/\"> quoted:<\/a> he compares economic development of Georgia and Moldova, stating that his \u201ccountry\u2019s success is due to the policy of independence from Brussels. According to <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/telegraphmd\/posts\/pfbid0PSWpmXCGuHYtUsRsbqPqH6S67fBmtURHNitEgp3kkpFSJTBdnbDnULscbQen9PcPl\">one of them,<\/a><\/u> the PAS is likely to suffer from the fact that Vlad Plahotniuc no longer keeps below the radar and can speak out, because \u201che can bring some sensitive issues to the surface,\u201d and \u201che can touch upon the points the PAS does not expect him to.\u201d Another<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/telegraphmd\/posts\/pfbid0WFRLjJsjF8qnCB2u4Uuuf4VxDtbTv5Gjayi4u5c58dKUeUAKMLR48ik8263Yxiiul\"> narrative<\/a> borrowed from Fadei Nagacevschi is that \u201cthe governance is desperately looking for some formulas to prevent Plahotniuc from entering the country, and they are afraid of compromising evidence.\u201d Several posts mention deputy Radu Marian whose mother is depicted in a photo next to Plahotniuc, and the following <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/telegraphmd\/posts\/pfbid02BYdkzWuze5XDdeQb5pmmwQGCEiJzcSiBUKQLVKmiB5acxNbvARVwMfvaZUGXSXhDl\">characteristics<\/a><\/u>: are provided:\u00a0 \u201cVlad Plahotniuc\u2019s scholarship recipients\u201d \u2013 \u201cRadu Marian, can you recognize yourself?! Tell us how much your family has received from the \u2018fugitive\u2019s\u2019 foundation?! Even your mother was glad, as we can see from these photos.\u201d In <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/telegraphmd\/posts\/pfbid02qgaLt7gBzt4mY535WFV2sYsYoVvP7HTpGiAHY7cLnMc3FmYfnLq5yJ19V7hU8jjal\">another post<\/a><\/u>, it is written that \u201cthere were the days when the mother of the PAS deputy Radu Marian would touch glasses of champagne with Vlad Plahotniuc, and go home with the money from the fugitive oligarch in the evening.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/RENASTERE\/permalink\/30700918529523207\/\">\u041c\u041e\u041b\u0414\u041e\u0412\u0410<\/a><\/u> (Moldova) group, a post by Andrei Ionita is shared: it describes how Plahotniuc\u2019s foundation allegedly sponsored the cultural events organized by Radu Marian\u2019s mother and brother, and speculatively concludes that \u201cthis is the reformed PAS: loud speeches deeply rooted in the corrupt past of this country. Radu Marian is not a symbol of change. He is merely a recycled product of the old system sold as a brand new one.\u201d The same group also published the <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/RENASTERE\/permalink\/30609877365293991\/\">messages<\/a><\/u> saying that, \u201cas expected, Vlad Plahotniuc\u2019s detention was turned into a cheap political PR show by the PAS representatives. For a party in the state of moral collapse whose governance has been compromised at all the levels, such a \u2018press bomb\u2019 is like a breath of oxygen before the upcoming elections.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As to the news about Plahotniuc\u2019s detention, the <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/unimedia.info\/posts\/pfbid075b1GqPEnJYFyanPQRdQAuwbQrKviVMVW4pktCXH7khDUfUGLwTuzG584hy3LHy6l\">Unimedia<\/a><\/u> editorial board highlights Igor Dodon\u2019s accusing question against President Sandu, including in the title: \u201cMaia Grigorievna, how could it be?! Dodon addresses the President after Plahotniuc\u2019s detention: He was residing in the EU, your friends in Brussels were hiding him, and were you aware of this fact and kept quiet?!\u201d <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kpmoldova\/posts\/pfbid02vgJjyusUF8RACVXK6WqqmEr2D1J5NUMpp6RK2VmvQdPsbUMiCrDagTU2K9poJw1Tl\">\u041a\u043e\u043c\u0441\u043e\u043c\u043e\u043b\u044c\u0441\u043a\u0430\u044f \u043f\u0440\u0430\u0432\u0434\u0430 \u0432 \u041c\u043e\u043b\u0434\u043e\u0432\u0435<\/a><\/u> published a material with the headline: \u201cThe arrest of the fugitive oligarch Plahotniuc is being transformed into a multi-stage intrigue: how will the PAS leadership involved in the theft of the billion in Moldova act?\u201d; the post is accompanied by the following text, \u201cIf Plahotniuc speaks up, many dirty things will emerge, and that will seriously stain the PAS leadership who are is not quite clean anyway.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/morari.live\/videos\/1698912474845142\/\">Morari.live<\/a><\/u> provides a quote by Fadei Nagacevschi, ex-Minister of Justice, who said during a broadcast that he believed Plahotniuc had obtained some guarantees and, therefore, he was returning, and everything that was happening was a \u201cfairytale no one believes in.\u201d The same platform published an idea shared by Vasile Costiuc, a guest of the \u201cGonta Show\u201d <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/morari.live\/videos\/1740121103288154\/\">broadcast:<\/a><\/u> he believes that Plahotniuc\u2019s return is bad news for the PAS, and that \u201cPlahotniuc has decided to return home on his own, because he is convinced he is not in danger here.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the page of <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/moldvedomosti\/permalink\/31154892247442387\/\">\u041c\u043e\u043b\u0434\u0430\u0432\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0435 \u0412\u0435\u0434\u043e\u043c\u043e\u0441\u0442\u0438<\/a><\/u> (Moldovan Journal), Elena Zamura, Editor-in-Chief of the publication, publishes a text in which she explains \u201cwhy Plahotniuc is not and has never been an oligarch.\u201d \u201cWhere have you seen any \u2018oligarchs\u2019 in our country?\u201d the author asks. \u201cMaybe Sandu\u2019s group and her media holding are merely using a propaganda clich\u00e9 to stigmatize the persons our \u2018good\u2019 and \u2018honest\u2019 people are afraid of for some reason?\u201d she concludes. Preparing the ground for contesting the outcome of the elections. <\/strong>Repeated accusations of imminent electoral fraud, manipulation using the diaspora votes, and falsified electoral lists have been circulating in the information space on Facebook. These messages can undermine public trust in the electoral process and create a narrative basis for eventual protests or refusal to accept the voting results.\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The monitoring was carried out within the project\u00a0\u201cResilient Media, Informed Voters: Safeguarding Moldova\u2019s Elections from Disinformation\u201d, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Moldova. monitored by us previously. In spite of the fact that the main narratives remain the same, the accents change and depend on the political agenda and current events.
