Call for applications for the project “Youth Voice Against Disinformation and Propaganda”

The Independent Journalism Center (IJC), in partnership with Internews-Ukraine and Fanzingo Media House in Sweden, is launching a call for applications for the cross-border project “Youth Voice Against Disinformation and Propaganda: Developing Media for Young People.”

Participants will benefit from online and offline courses, where they will improve their knowledge and practices necessary for a professional and impactful approach to topics related to disinformation and propaganda.

Indicative calendar of events:

  • March 24-25 and April 22-23 — offline training in Moldova;
  • April 8 and 29, May 12 and 19 — online workshops (up to 4 hours);
  • June 8-12 — round table in Sweden;
  • October 2026 — final online workshop.

The organizers will cover transportation, accommodation, and meal expenses during offline events.

Who is eligible to participate?

Journalists who meet the following conditions can enroll in the training program:

  • Are between 18 and 28 years old;
  • Have intermediate (independent user) or more advanced English language skills;
  • Hold an international biometric passport (valid until at least October 2026);
  • Are interested in the field of combating disinformation and propaganda;
  • Intend to participate in all events planned within the project and to give a short interview in English;
  • Are willing to distribute the project materials on their own communication channels or those of the media institutions they represent (the project includes an information campaign with animated videos, infographics, and questionnaires. The organizers will provide all materials for distribution).

Scholarships

Selected individuals will receive support from mentors and scholarships for the creation of thematic materials.

*The value of the scholarships will be equivalent to 300 euros (approximately 5,800 MDL at the exchange rate of the National Bank of Moldova).

Language of communication: Journalists who speak Romanian/Ukrainian/English are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of English is essential.

Interesting individuals working in the media field can register to participate by completing the registration form by February 11, 2026, inclusive.
