Fighting propaganda and manipulation through media literacy tools

Donor: Black Sea Trust, a Project of the German Marshall Fund of the United States
Objective: the project was aimed at diminishing the consequences of propaganda by promoting media literacy and improving the critical thinking skills of media consumers.
Activities: monitoring of the most popular Russian stations that broadcast in Moldova; production of explanatory content on propaganda; production of caption videos explaining the main monitoring findings; production of cuMINTE podcast – the first and only media literacy podcast in the Republic of Moldova.
Results: The project provided media consumers with access to resources and professional media content produced to promote critical thinking and reduce the effects of propaganda. Within it, 14 media analyses were published, explaining various manipulation techniques identified in the media, and 12 editions of the cuMINTE podcast were launched. All materials produced are available on the Mediacritica platform – www.mediacritica.md
