Advancing media literacy in the Republic of Moldova, analyzed by authorities, representatives of the international donor community and civil society

The Independent Journalism Center, in cooperation with the Baltic Center for Media Excellence, will launch on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in an online event, the study “Comprehensive approach and advancement of media literacy in Moldova.”

The aim of the research is to improve the coordination of media literacy initiatives in the Republic of Moldova and to advance media education in the education system.

The study contains a series of recommendations addressed to the authorities, civil society, but also to all actors involved in cultivating critical thinking.

The research will be launched within international public discussions, which will also focus on the perspective of the national strategic approach, the coordination of media literacy initiatives and the development of critical thinking through the education system. The event will be attended by ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Moldova, representatives of the international donor community, as well as civil society.

The event is organized in partnership by the Baltic Center for Media Excellence (Riga), the Independent Journalism Center (Chisinau) and the Baltic to Black Sea Alliance (Riga), with the financial support of the Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation, a project supported by the German Marshall Fund of the USA; British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia.

The online discussions will take place on the Zoom platform, and the event will be broadcast live by Privesc.eu, starting 10.30 AM.
