Boosting Support to Russian-language independent media and media literacy efforts

- Donor: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands
- Purpose: In this project, the IJC in partnership with Internews in Moldova aimed to develop the critical thinking among Russian-speaking students in the northern and southern districts of the Republic of Moldova, including in the Gagauzia Autonomous Territorial Unit. The IJC encouraged teachers in these regions to offer the optional Media Education course and thus become messengers for quality journalism as well as critical thinking.
- Activities: The IJC conducted 15 media education lessons for students and six training sessions in Media Education for about 90 Russian-speaking teachers and teachers in the northern and southern districts of the Republic of Moldova, including in the Gagauzia Autonomous Territorial Unit.
- Results: 107 Russian-speaking teachers and teachers were trained to teach the Media Education course, and 508 students from 15 schools participated in 15 media education lessons.
